Discover Saskatchewan #1
TOUR DATE: June 27, 2026
TOUR PRICE: $115.00 CAD
Join us for a relaxed prairie day tour as we visit two fascinating Saskatchewan heritage sites.
We begin the day at the Avonlea Museum, a friendly small-town museum filled with stories from early prairie life. You will see old tools, photos, and displays that show how settlers lived, worked, and built their communities. It is an easy stop with time to explore at your own pace. The museum features an original 1912 CN Train Station, the St. David’s Anglican Church, a Cook Sleeper and Supply Car, a Pioneer Display Building and an Agriculture Display Building. The town market will also be on and lunch is included at the museum.
Next, we continue our journey to the Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village, one of the most unique heritage sites in Saskatchewan. Here you can walk through antique car displays, historic buildings, old shops, and outdoor farm displays that bring the past to life. The highlight is the famous land-built ship created by early settler Tom Sukanen, a true piece of prairie history. You will also find restored homes, machinery, and exhibits that show how life once looked on the prairies.
This is a comfortable, easy day trip suitable for all ages. Sit back on the coach, enjoy the prairie scenery, and relax while we do the driving. There is time to explore both sites without rushing. Bring your camera, wear comfortable shoes, and enjoy a day filled with history and discovery.
You will return home with great memories of Saskatchewan’s past and a deeper appreciation for prairie heritage. This tour is simple, enjoyable, and a wonderful way to spend the day with friends or family.
